welcome to the international kwanmukan
Celebration of the Kwanmukann (Anderson Cup)
Important message for all Kwanmukan – online celebration planned.
We are having an organization wide online activity to bring everyone together. This is the Celebration of the Kwanmukan/Anderson Cup. However, we are not running it as a competition which is difficult to do online. Instead, we structured it so that every Kwanmukan member can be involved and we strongly urge you to participate.
Here is how it will work. Each member (We are looking for 100% participation - including shihan, senior sensei, sensei, dan and kyu members will film themselves doing their kwan bu and kata as if they were in the Anderson Cup. Then these video will be uploaded by the member to a hidden Facebook page where senior members will comment upon the video. These comments will not be published but collected and sent to the instructor to give to the member, or by the head of the Shihan Board for shihan and senior sensei. The Facebook page will be made available to each participant, each evaluator, and to family and friends of the participants so that they can share with their family and friends. In addition, members will be encouraged to “like” each others photos. All posts to the site will be reviewed by monitors before being allowed and all member requests to the page will also be reviewed.
Below is a general outline of the kata and kwanbu requirements, but if these are not appropriate for you, please feel free to modify them to fit what you know. A new thing this year is to be able to also demonstrate your weapons kata and kwanbu!
The cost to participate is $15 which will be used to give you a participation menu and other Kwanmukan regalia! The link to register is HERE. Scholarships are available if you cannot afford the cost to participate. Just email Hanshi Hickey privately – pmhickey1@gmail.com – with a request.
To join this page, please click on this link and request membership (you do need a Facebook account or need to use a family member’s.) You will need to accept the group rules and indicate the name or the person this request is on behalf of (the person whose video you will be uploading.)
Again, this is a private Facebook page where all members must be approved and we will allow you at a later date to invite family and friends to view the videos at a later date.
Again, Click for the link to the page Celebration of the Kwanmukan (Anderson Cup). You can also request membership within Facebook for the page if you have not received your invitation yet.
Finally, you will be able to upload from now until November 10. Upon registration you will get the information needed to join the Facebook page and upload your video to the private Facebook page.
